قدم الدكتور عُمر أحمد العبيدلي، مدير إدارة الدراسات والبحوث بمركز البحرين للدراسات الاستارتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، مُحاضرةً عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي بعنوان "فوائد سياسة: الطاقة المُتجددة المركزية لدول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية"، بتنظيمٍ من جامعة برمنجهام في دبي بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
وأشار الدكتور العبيدلي في مُحاضرته إلى وجود فوائد كبيرةٍ مُتعلقةٍ بتعزيز التعاون في مجال الطاقة المُتجددة، لا سيما في مجال البحث العلمي في الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح، حيث توجد تحدياتٌ مُشتركةٌ على الصعيد الخليجي يُمكن التغلب عليها من خلال التعاون البحثي المُشترك، ونوه الدكتور العبيدلي أيضًا بالدور الإيجابي الذي تلعبه المنح الأكاديمية المُشتركة في هذا الإطار من خلال تحفيز الباحثين الخليجيين على التعاون مع زملائهم العاملين في جامعاتٍ إقليميةٍ أُخرى، فضلًا عن تبادل الخبرات وتعزيز القُدرات.

Dr. Omar Ahmad Al-Ubaydli, Director of Studies and Research at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat), delivered a lecture via video conference entitled “The Benefits of a Centralized GCC Renewable Energy Policy”, organized by the University of Birmingham in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In his lecture, Dr. Al-Ubaydli pointed out that there are significant benefits related to enhancing cooperation in the field of renewable energy, particularly in scientific research on solar and wind energy. He emphasized that there are common challenges at the Arabian Gulf level that can be overcome through joint research cooperation. Dr. Al-Ubaydli also noted the positive role played by joint academic grants in this framework, as they motivate Arabian Gulf researchers to collaborate with their colleagues at other regional universities, facilitating the exchange of expertise and enhancing capabilities.

قام الدكتور بنجامين أوجيه، زميل مُشارك، بمركز الدراسات الإفريقية ومركز الطاقة في المعهد الفرنسي للعلاقات الدولية، بزيارةٍ إلى مركز البحرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، حيث كان في استقباله كُلًا من الدكتور أشرف محمد كشك، مدير برنامج الدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية بإدارة الدراسات والبحوث، والدكتور عبدالله عيسى العباسي، مدير برنامج الطاقة والبيئة بإدارة الدراسات والبحوث، والأستاذة منى سعد الرصيص، مُحلل بالإدارة ذاتها، وذلك صباح يوم الأحد 13 أكتوبر 2024م بمقر المركز في عوالي.
وخلال اللقاء تمت مُناقشة عددٍ من القضايا ذات الصلة حول منطقة القرن الإفريقي وسُبل تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار في تلك المنطقة، فضلًا عن تأثير تهديدات الملاحة البحرية على أمن دول الخليج العربي، وقضايا الطاقة ومجالات التعاون البحثي في هذا الصدد.

Dr. Benjamin Auge, Associate Fellow at the African Studies Center and Center for Energy at the French Institute of International Relations, visited the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) on Sunday, 13 October 2024. He was received by Dr. Ashraf Mohammed Kishk, Director of the Strategic and International Studies Programme at the Studies and Research Directorate; Dr. Abdulla Isa Al-Abbasi, Director of the Energy and Environment Studies Programme at the Studies and Research Directorate; and Ms. Mona Saad Al-Resais, Analyst in the same directorate, at the Center’s headquarters in Awali. During the meeting, a number of issues related to the Horn of Africa region and ways to achieve security and stability in that region were addressed, as well as the impact of maritime navigation threats on the security of the Arabian Gulf States and energy research related cooperation in this regard.

قام سعادة السيد فيصل بن حارب بن حمد البوسعيدي، سفير سلطنة عُمان الشقيقة لدى مملكة البحرين، بزيارةٍ إلى مركز البحرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، يوم الخميس 10 أكتوبر 2024م، حيث كان في استقباله الدكتور حمد إبراهيم العبدالله، المدير التنفيذي لمركز "دراسات" إلى جانب عددٍ من المسؤولين في المركز.
وخلال الزيارة، سلطت المُناقشات الضوء على مجالات التعاون الرئيسة بين "دراسات" ومراكز البحوث والمؤسسات الأكاديمية في سلطنة عُمان، وتناول الدكتور العبدالله دور المركز في تنظيم فعاليات المُلتقى البحريني – العُماني الثالث بعنوان "تعزيز ديناميكيات سوق العمل: رؤىً من تجربة مملكة البحرين"، الذي هدف هذا العام لتبادل المعرفة وأفضل المُمارسات في استراتيجيات سوق العمل، وتعزيز التعاون القائم بين البلدين الشقيقين في هذا الجانب. وأعرب سعادة السيد فيصل بن حارب بن حمد البوسعيدي عن تقديره لجهود مركز "دراسات" في تسهيل مثل هذه المُلتقيات، وأكد على أهمية الحوار المُستمر لمُعالجة التحديات المُشتركة إقليميًا ودوليًا، وتعزيز التعاون في المجالات البحثية.

H.E. Sayyid Faisal bin Hareb bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain, visited the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) on Thursday, 10 October 2024. He was received by Dr. Hamad Ebrahim Al-Abdulla, Executive Director of Derasat, along with several officials from the Center.
During the visit, discussions highlighted key areas of cooperation between research centers and academic institutions in Oman. Dr. Al-Abdulla shared insights on the Center's recent organization of the Third Bahraini-Omani Dialogue, which focused on “Enhancing Labor Market Dynamics: Insights from the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Experience”. This dialogue aimed to exchange knowledge and best practices in labor market strategies, fostering deeper collaboration between Bahrain and Oman. H.E. the Ambassador expressed appreciation for Derasat's efforts in facilitating such meaningful exchanges and emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue to address common challenges within the region.

شارك الدكتور عُمر أحمد العبيدلي، مدير إدارة الدراسات والبحوث بمركز البحرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، مؤخرًا في سلسلةٍ من ورش العمل بتنظيمٍ من مركز الخليج للأبحاث في المملكة العربية السعودية، وركزت هذه السلسلة على الديناميكيات المُتعددة الأوجه لدول الخليج العربي، وتناولت أبعادًا مُختلفةً بما في ذلك السياسية والثقافية، ولا سيما في المشهد الاقتصادي.
وفي مساهمته استعرض الدكتور العبيدلي الدور الحاسم لاقتصادات الخليج العربي في الاقتصاد العالمي، وسلط الضوء على تطورها وتكيفها مع ظروف السوق المُتغيرة، مؤكدًا على أهميتها في التجارة الدولية وأسواق الطاقة.

Dr. Omar Ahmad Al-Obaydli, Director of the Studies and Research Directorate at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), recently participated in a series of insightful workshops organized by the Gulf Research Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This series focused on the multifaceted dynamics of the Arabian Gulf countries, exploring various dimensions including politics, culture, and, notably, the economic landscape.
In Dr. Al-Obaydli's contribution, he examined the critical role of Arabian Gulf economies within the global economy. He highlighted their evolution and adaptation to changing market conditions, emphasizing their significance in international trade and energy markets.

استضاف مركز البحرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، السيد أكيهيرو هيروسي، باحث أول في مجموعة أعمال الشرق الأوسط بقسم الأعمال العالمية في معهد ميتسوبيشي للأبحاث في اليابان، وذلك في يوم الثلاثاء 8 أكتوبر 2024م، وكان في استقباله الدكتور حمد إبراهيم العبدالله، المدير التنفيذي لمركز "دراسات"، والباحث علي إبراهيم فقيه، مُحلل بإدارة الدراسات والبحوث.
وتبادل الطرفان النقاش حول سُبل التعاون المُحتملة في البحوث الاستراتيجية، كما تم بحث مجالات التعاون التي من شأنها تعزيز فهم الديناميكيات الإقليمية وتعزيز الحلول المُبتكرة للتحديات المُشتركة كافة، التزامًا من الجانبين على تبادل المعرفة والخبرات في عددٍ من المجالات ذات الاهتمام المُشترك.

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) hosted Mr. Akihiro Hirose, Senior Researcher of the Middle East Business Group – Global Business Division at the Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI), on 8 October 2024. He was received by Dr. Hamad Ebrahim Al-Abdulla, Executive Director of Derasat, and Mr. Ali Ebrahim Faqeeh, Analyst at the Center’s Studies and Research Directorate.
During their visit, both parties engaged in discussions focused on mutual cooperation in research and strategic initiatives. They explored avenues for collaborative projects that would enhance the understanding of regional dynamics and foster innovative solutions to common challenges, thereby reinforcing their commitment to sharing knowledge and expertise for the benefit of both parties.

عقد مركز البحرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، اجتماعًا عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي مع مركز تريندز للبحوث والاستشارات من دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة الشقيقة، يوم الثلاثاء 8 أكتوبر 2024م، بحضور الدكتور حمد إبراهيم العبدالله، المدير التنفيذي لمركز "دراسات"، وسعادة الدكتور محمد عبدالله العلي، المؤسس والرئيس التنفيذي لمركز تريندز إلى جانب مسؤولين من المؤسستين.
وخلال الاجتماع، تناول المُشاركون مجالات التعاون المُختلفةِ لتعزيز جهود البحث العلمي المُشترك والتبادل المعرفي بين الجانبين، وركز النقاش على تطوير مُبادرات الأبحاث المُشتركة، ومُشاركة المُمارسات المُثلى في الدراسات الاستراتيجية، وتنظيم ورش العمل والمؤتمرات التي من شأنها الجمع بين الخُبراء من مملكة البحرين ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
وسبق لمركزي "دراسات" و"تريندز" توقيع مُذكرة تعاونٍ في 1 يونيو 2021م لتأسيس إطار عملٍ للتعاون في البحث العلمي وبناء القُدرات والتشارك في الخبرات، وهو ما أكده هذا الاجتماع من قبيل الالتزام بالشراكة القائمة، سعيًا لمُعالجة التحديات المُشتركة واستغلال الفُرص في مجالات الدراسات الاستراتيجية والعلاقات الدولية والطاقة، بهدف بلورة رؤيةٍ مُشتركةٍ للتميز البحثي وتعزيز الفهم الجمعي لمُختلف القضايا الإقليمية والعالمية.

شارك الدكتور عُمر أحمد العبيدلي، مدير إدارة الدراسات والبحوث بمركز البحرين للدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية والطاقة "دراسات"، في مؤتمر "الثروات الاقتصادية – عصر الاقتصاد الرقمي" في نُسخته الثالثة، الذي نظمته الجامعة الأهلية في مملكة البحرين، بحضور سعادة الدكتور محمد بن مبارك جمعة، وزير التربية والتعليم رئيس مجلس أمناء التعليم العالي، وبمُشاركة عددٍ من الجامعات الخليجية والعربية، وذلك تحت شعار "الذكاء الاصطناعي من أجل الابتكار في مجال الأعمال والتنويع الاقتصادي".
واستعرض الدكتور العبيدلي في الطاولة المُستديرة التي تخللت أعمال المؤتمر دور الذكاء الاصطناعي في مجال الاستدامة، والتطور الملحوظ في القُدرات المحلية في هذا المجال، بالإضافة إلى أهمية تفعيل هذه الطاقات لتطوير حلولٍ مُبتكرةٍ لمواجهة تحديات تغير المُناخ.

Dr. Omar Ahmed Al-Obaydli, Director of the Studies and Research Directorate at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), participated in the third edition of the “Economic Wealth - The Age of Digital Economy” conference, organized by Ahlia University in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, along with representatives from several universities in the Arabian Gulf and the Arab World. This year's conference was held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Innovation in Business and Economic Diversification”.
Dr. Al-Obaydli’s contribution came through a roundtable organized on artificial intelligence in the field of sustainability, where he highlighted the noticeable improvement in local capabilities in artificial intelligence and emphasized the importance of harnessing these resources to develop innovative solutions for addressing the challenges of climate change.
